eCompanion and Hybrid courses combine traditional classroom instruction with an online component. Please read below to learn the distinction between eCompanion
and Hybrid courses. Any questions or concerns you may have
about these courses should be directed to your instructor or the
Director of Distance Learning at your college. (Contact
information is located below.)
eCompanion
eCompanion is an education tool instructors may use with their traditional face-to-face course. Instructors may choose to post lecture notes, exam reviews, syllabi, grades and/or class announcements for students to access
within the eCompanion. Primary instruction does not occur online when eCompanion is used.
To help you get started using the eCompanion tool, read through our
eCompanion Information Sheet.
Hybrid Courses
A hybrid class combines traditional face-to-face instruction with online instruction. For
example, rather than attending class on campus two days a week, a hybrid class may
meet in a classroom one day and online the second day.
Students enrolled in a hybrid course get the best of both worlds. They get the face-to-face interaction with their instructor and classmates
and also get to complete some work online and reduce their time on campus. To help you get started in your hybrid course, take a moment and read through our
Hybrid Course Information Sheet.
