Advice from
Current Online Learners
Get a student's view point regarding online learning! Current online students have these
comments to share with new online learners.
- An online class can be lots of fun as long as you set enough time for each class and stay on course.
- One thing I did was buy a white board and wrote down all of the dates that threaded discussions, assignments, tests, papers, etc... were due for each class and marked them off as I did them. Kept me organized.
- I am not sure I could manage a face-to-face classroom anymore after taking an online course. I love them! And believe me, if you set up a schedule for yourself and stick to it, they really aren't that bad.
- You need to study hard and ask lots and lots and lots of questions!
- I'm a late night person and do my best work late at night. So by doing online classes, I can do my work late at night and not be stressed out.
- These classes work well with a busy work and family schedule. The best advice that I would offer new students to this process is to check your courses daily and always participate in class discussions.
- You need to keep up with your assignments.
- If you are not a self-learner, online courses might not be for you.
- If you work well independently, then online might work for you.
- Online courses take lots of time.
- Make sure to complete assignments ahead of time so that you have plenty of time if you encounter a technical problem or have questions before a quiz.
- You really have to do all the work and not fall behind.
- Have a regular time each week that you log into your online class and don't skip class.
