Student Information

Student Withdrawals

You will be sent an e-mail notifying you of student(s) that withdraw from your course during a specific term.

Course Roster

To access your course roster please visit the http://ecollege.scciowa.edu

Enter the same user id and password as you do for the eCollege system.  Click on the drop down menu and then click on "course roster".  You will need to enter the term and chose your specific course.  This will provide you with a list of your students, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers.

Returned Emails

If any e-mails are returned to you please forward them to the ICCOC Director, Steve Rheinschmidt.  Steve's e-mail address is stever@scciowa.edu.  The students will be contacted by telephone to get an updated e-mail address.

Non-Participating Students

Please send a list of students who have not accessed their course by the end of the first week or stop accessing their course during the semester to Rhonda McElroy, rmcelroy@scciowa.edu.  These students will be contacted to check their status.

Technical Message to Pass on to Students

Please ask students to save their document in "rich text format" before attaching them to e-mails.  This will allow you and the students to view any document regardless of the software they are utilizing.  They can save files in rich text format (.rtf) by completing the following steps:

  • Click on the file option in the top menu
  • Choose the 'save as' option
  • Name the file and then click on the 'save as type' arrow....then scroll down and chose rich text format
  • Then click on 'save'

Online Exams

The information below is what is provided to online students before they take their online exam.  Please pass this on to students before they actually take your tests.  They do receive this message at the beginning of the semester.

  • You will only be able to enter your online exam one time.
    Click the "save" button often
  • If you lose your internet connection during your exam, log on again and try to access your exam. If you are unable to enter the exam, contact your instructor.
  • You will always be able to see the time remaining in the exam at the top right of your screen
  • We recommend that you take the Sample Exam in Unit 6 of your Student Orientation Course before entering your actual exam
