Shared Online Courses

A shared online course is a course in which students from all seven partner colleges may be enrolled and the instructor for this course may be from any one of the partner colleges.

A complete listing of shared online courses available by term through the ICCOC is located in our Course Schedule. Please note that each of our partner colleges may choose not to offer every course listed. For a listing of courses offered by your home college, please visit your college website or contact the Registrar's Office.

In addition to our "regular" online courses, the partner colleges of the ICCOC may offer other types of online or partially online courses; they are listed below.

Restricted Online Courses

Restricted online courses are fully-online courses that are offered only to students who are enrolled at the college from which the instructor is teaching the course. The instructor and students are all from the same college.

eCompanions

eCompanions are educational tools that instructors may use with their traditional face-to-face courses.  Instructors may choose to post lecture notes, exam reviews, syllabi, grades and/or class announcements for students to access within the eCompanion.  Instruction occurs in the classroom.

Hybrid Courses

A hybrid course combines traditional face-to-face instruction with online instruction.  For example, rather than attending class on campus two days a week, a hybrid class may meet in a classroom one day and online the second day.

Students enrolled in a hybrid course get the best of both worlds.  They get the face-to-face interaction with their instructor and classmates and also get to complete some work online to reduce their time on campus.

 Take Note

Students enrolled in eCompanions,

restricted and hybrid courses must

contact their Bookstores for

textbook information.

Upon enrollment in one of these

courses, students will receive a

confirmation email

containing login information.

  Start dates for restricted courses,

hybrids & eCompanions may be

different than the normal shared

online course terms.

Check with your college for the

start dates of these courses.
