Plagiarism

As an online student, it is important to understand what plagiarism is and how to prevent it.  All online students agree to abide by the conditions set forth in the Student Ethics Statement.

In order to assist online students and instructors, the ICCOC has provided access to TurnitinTurnitin is a plagiarism detection software tool used for the purpose of helping students learn about and prevent plagiarism in written work.

Students will have access to Turnitin if an instructor has decided to use Turnitin in a particular course and has allowed a Dropbox to be integrated with the Turnitin Tool.  If this is the case, then an assignment submitted to a Dropbox where Turnitin is being used will be forwarded to Turnitin.  The instructor will determine who will have access to see a returned report on the assignment from Turnitin.  For more information, visit with your instructor.
