PowerPoint Tip

      Compressing Pictures in a Powerpoint

1. Open your PowerPoint presentation.
2. Select any image in the presentation.
3. Select the Format contextual tab.
4. Select the Compress Pictures command.
5. Select Options.
6. Select the email output option (96 dpi)
7. Click OK
8. Click OK again.
9. Save your file with a new name if you want to keep the original document.

An example presentation went from 6.68 Mb to 763Kb after image compression.

Compressing the images does not affect printing, unless you have VERY detailed images where it is critical that students see minute details.
