Don't live near a testing center at one of our partner college's locations?

Check with the local college or university within your community to see if it offers testing/proctoring services.  Perhaps, the local librarian or Principal/Guidance Counselor at your local school would agree to be your proctor.  Also, your Supervisor or Human Resources Manager may be willing to proctor your exams.

(Be sure to ask if the proctor/testing center charges a fee for the service.)

Your instructor has final approval of your proctor/testing location.  Be sure to contact your instructor at the beginning of the term to have your proctor approved and to share contact information for your proctor.

What Is a Proctor?

Some online courses offered through the ICCOCrequire you to use a Proctor for some, one or all of the quizzes and/or exams within the course.  A Proctor administers your exam or quiz for you and must be present while you are taking the exam.

If a course requires a proctor, the instructor will provide this information in the syllabus.  The ICCOC has tried to identify all courses that require a proctor by placing a (P) after the course title and section number in the Course Schedule.

Student Responsibilities

As a student enrolled in a course that has proctored exams, it is your responsibility to:

  • locate a proctor or a testing center where a proctor is located;
  • provide your proctor's contact information (name, phone number and email address) to your instructor.

You can provide your proctor's contact information to your instructor by clicking on the My Proctor link located within your course.  If this link is missing for a course that requires a proctor, please contact your instructor via email or phone.

My Proctor Link

The My Proctor link is located under the Course Home tab within courses that require a proctor. Instructors can choose to delete this link and ask you to contact them via alternate ways with your proctor/testing center information.

The link is set up like a quiz. You may enter the My Proctor link as many times as needed to enter your information.

If you have any questions about the My Proctor link, about proctors or testing centers in general or how a proctor will be used within your course, please feel free to contact your instructor.

Take Note

You need to schedule an

appointment with your

proctor/testing center

for each quiz/exam to

 be proctored.

Each of our partner colleges has

a Testing Center located on its

campuses.

 Your proctor/testing

center must be approved

 by your instructor.
