What Is a Proctor?
Some online courses offered through the ICCOCrequire you to use a Proctor for some, one or all of the quizzes and/or exams within the course. A Proctor administers your exam or quiz for you and must be present while you are taking the exam.
If a course requires a proctor, the instructor will provide this information in the syllabus. The ICCOC has tried to identify all courses that require a proctor by placing a (P) after the course title and section number in the Course Schedule.
Student Responsibilities
As a student enrolled in a course that has proctored exams, it is your responsibility to:
- locate a proctor or a testing center where a proctor is located;
- provide your proctor's contact information (name, phone number and email address) to your instructor.
You can provide your proctor's contact information to your instructor by clicking on the My Proctor link located within your course. If this link is missing for a course that requires a proctor, please contact your instructor via email or phone.
My Proctor Link
The My Proctor link is located under the Course Home tab within courses that require a proctor. Instructors can choose to delete this link and ask you to contact them via alternate ways with your proctor/testing center information.
The link is set up like a quiz. You may enter the My Proctor link as many times as needed to enter your information.
If you have any questions about the My Proctor link, about proctors or testing centers in general or how a proctor will be used within your course, please feel free to contact your instructor.
